WWF Indonesia-Earth Day

April 23, 2007 · Leave a Comment

Yesterday, Sunday (22/4) I walked around Citos (Cilandak Town Square of course) and found interesting event. Actually I had know from mailist already about this. Because yesterday is Earth Day, WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature) celebrated with made special occasssion in public place. This is one type of public communication using below the line strategy. I gave two thumbs for WWF, because with those event many audience will grab in one time. Campaign for our lovely earth will got more supporters. But I have one little criticism (hopefully WWF Indonesia staff has spare time to read this). I think public event like that was not able to use as fundraising event also. Public who just walking through like me feel shocked when ask about some information but the organizer ask for money from us. I think you should be better make categorization for your supporter. Because not all people has money, but I believe many people has care.  I suggest WWF could divide it’s supporters into money supporter, material (non-money) supporter, and volunteer of any kinds (including their valuable time & skill). This will help to conservate our earth better, I believe. Go forward, save our earth!

9 Months Photo Exhibition

April 21, 2007 · Leave a Comment

dkw-9-months.jpg

Last night I attended photo exhibition opening ceremony of my best friend: Diah Kusumawardani Wijayanti at Plaza Semanggi. This exhibition will be held 20-27 April 2007.  As one of rare Indonesian woman photographer, her achievement is extra-ordinary. Meanwhile she is still working in Galeri Foto Jurnalistik Antara (GFJA) as currator-assistant -it means she is assistant of Oscar Motuloh the director himself-, she established her own commercial photo studio named “DKW Photo Studio”. For the quality of her photo itself, no doubt about it. All of her picture memorized various woman in pregnant are touchy. Further, it related with Kartini’s day -we can compare with Woman’s Day abroad-, so, of course the exhibition itself got more powerfull.  But I have a little notice on organizer work (hopefully Diah herself could read). This is actually the real help I want to offer, but I miss-remembered when her exhibition actually is. So, I am late to offer help. All of the organizer persons seems doubt, look like there are no technical meeting before. I am as VIP -as Diah told me- feel confuse where we must attend at receptionist (they played “ping-pong”, you know?  Not only to me, but to another guest also). We actually got voucher from one organizer person to eat at Cavana, but later Diah herself give another! The goody-bag was not give automaticallly, we must ask many times. And the guys (many guys with black shirt) in the receptionist desk looked like a dumb who don’t know what they should do. I feel help whenever meet the girls in pink. They are so helpfull. The organizer seems not made proper breakdown. Seems no Q-Card for MC, made her confused. The absence of proper breakdown put the famous Mollucas like ordinary pub singer group only. They sang whenever Minister of Women Empowerment walked out from venue to saw exhibition those hold on the aisle of Upper Ground Floor of Plaza Semanggi. I think that ironic. Although they still showed their professionalism and sang 2 songs: I Am Every Woman & Emotions perfectly. (that’s very professional because they were perform for charity in this event). So, Diah, next time you want to make another exhibition, please let me know before to help you organize. It’s free. For my old best friend! However, congrats!!!
